The Yorkshire and Humber Regional Cyber Crime Unit are launching an annual Business Leaders Seminar at The Ron Cooke Hub, University of York, on Thursday 10th May 2018.

This is an exciting and informative event with speakers from the FBI, legal and IT sectors.

Delegates will be taken through an interactive presentation detailing how ransomware propagates the system and the measures required to recover from it.

Agents from the FBI will give delegates a rare opportunity to hear from international law enforcement as they take you through cases they have worked on.

Finally a lawyer who worked on one of the UK’s largest data breaches covers the lessons learnt from the incident.

The event has been brought together by Detective Sergeant Shelton Newsham who said “The purpose of this seminar is to provide delegates with the latest information and advice that will enable the local SME leaders to protect their businesses from the increasing threat of cybercrime. We will also showcase the free products and services offered by the Yorkshire & Humber Regional Cyber Crime Unit”

The speakers will also be present at the free networking lunch which follows the seminar.
