As a result of the Police Uplift Programme (PUP) the Yorkshire & Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit (YHROCU) are increasing their establishment across a number of teams which support the fight against Serious Organised Crime within the Regional Forces of North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and Humberside. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with Police Forces, the National Crime Agency (NCA) and other key law enforcement partners including internationally using investigation techniques and high level covert tactics to disrupt organised crime and bring offenders to justice.

Within the Yorkshire and Humber Region this equates to 26 officers in 2021/22, with a potential for 7 more local secondments to the City of London Police tackling Fraud related issues.

2022/23 will likely see upwards of 70 additional police officer posts added to the YHROCU.

This provides opportunity to increase capability and capacity to enable it to tackle both existing and emerging threats, whilst keeping the public safe.

Applications are welcome from Police Constables who are willing to undertake the TI development programme, existing TI’s and PIP2 accredited Detectives.

Opportunities will also be available for suitably qualified and experienced Sergeants, Inspectors and SLT members as the YHROCU expands.

The uplift provides further opportunity to ensure the YHROCU is truly representative of the communities we serve, from a geographical perspective, skills, life experience and the protected characteristics.

By being truly representative it enables the YHROCU to provide the best service to the public.

Applications are particularly welcome from all underrepresented groups including but not limited to officers from different cultural backgrounds.

The YHROCU have capabilities in Covert Investigations, Undercover Operations, Cyber Crime, Digital Forensics, Dark Web, Regional Intelligence, Covert Intelligence Collection, Technical Surveillance and Regional Economic Investigations.

Ultimately if you can think outside the box, problem solve some of the most serious threats facing society and are keen to develop and take on new challenges, then please see our vacancies page for current opportunities - VACANCIES
